Wishing you all a happy Christmas from everyone here at GM CNC
Vcenter AX800
The AX800 has a built-in (DDS) 15,000rpm spindle which delivers 22kW/167NMm at a low base speed of 1,060rpm ensuring optimal material removal rates. In addition the AX800 has large diameter ball screws coupled to the servo motors maximising rigidity and performance levels. What’s more, the roller gear mechanism minimises the backlash and guarantees high accuracy at an arbitrary angle.
The travelling column is supported by 3 roller linear guides provide rigid machine structure, ensuring smooth X-axis travel. The robust machine has a BBT-40 taper spindle with a 40 tool ATC (Opt. 60) and has a twin arm type ATC which performs quick and reliable tool changes. The Swivel head (B-axis) and rotary table (C-axis) facilitate 5-axis machining of large parts, up to 1,000mm in diameter.
The C-axis table is clamped at high torque 3433 Nm for maximum rigidity, whilst the B-axis swivel head includes a Hirth coupling with 1° increment further enhancing the rigidity, and 4+1 axis machining capability. Full simultaneous 5-axis function is available as an option, with either Fanuc 31i-B5 or Heidenhain TNC-640 Controls.
